How To Set Up HTML Email Signatures In Fastmail

Fastmail is a sophisticated email service which you can resell to your clients. Recently a client asked me to set up an HTML email signature with his logo. I send plain text emails so I didn’t know how to do this, and Fastmail’s otherwise good docs were silent on this. So here’s how:

  • Go to Options → Signatures.
  • Choose which signature to edit (top item of sidebar).
  • Fill in Raw HTML signature box with your HTML snippet.
  • Click Copy HTML to text button.
  • Save signature.
  • Click Make default signature if necessary.
  • Go to Options → Account Preferences → Compose section.
  • Set Default compose mode to Rich text (HTML).
  • Set Signature for new to Before editing, above original.
  • Set Signature for reply to Before editing, above original.
  • Set HTML when responding to Always as HTML.
